Had the chance to test the lasted AetherSDR release a bit more this past weekend with my Flex 8600.
Super impressed with how far this software has came in the past few weeks. From a scrappy project to one of the best pieces of software in ham radio.

The new AetherAudio/PooDoo audio panel is sick. For someone that enjoys tinkering with these things, having a full suite of classic EQ, compression, etc. tools right in the software is a ton of fun. I need to spend more time with it, but it’s clear you can add some serious punch.

The time has come for a new PC in the shack. Been working on assembly the past couple evenings and now have moved to software installation and config.
Got the new Flex Radio SmartSDR 4.2.18 installed last night and running. Still some work to do on logging integration and WSJT-X… but getting close to done!
This thing is an absolute BEAST.

Testing out AetherSDR 0.7.7 for Windows with my Flex 8600. An IMPRESSIVELY complete SDR suite given it's very recent and rapid development. NR2 is notably nice.

Have any of you hams installed (or had installed) a substantial roof solar setup that didn’t create RFI? Any tips or brands to seek out?
Been thinking more about electricity, backup power, and the rising costs of my electric bill and getting more serious about solutions.

So far, a number of replies have suggested they’ve had good luck with solar without destroying the ham bands. Key points so far:
1. Noise is primarily a factor of voltage inverters/converters.
2. Brands known for quality seem to perform better.

Looking for a “power generator”/“solar generator” unit. Would like at least 1000wh, ability to expand with an additional battery, and above all else, GREAT RFI performance.
Any recommendations? I’m sure many of these are noisy as all heck.
