When Chris Arnone was born, no one could determine his sex. For the first few days of his life, his parents called him Baby until a chromosome test confirmed he was a boy. His memoir, 'My Name Was Baby', explores sex, gender, religion, politics, and more through the story of his struggles with anxiety, confusion, and eventual self-acceptance. Hear from Arnone at the Central Library on June 16 at 6 p.m. as part of Pride Month programming. Reserve your spot at kclibrary.org/events.

Award winning French-Iranian author, Marjane Satrapi, has passed away. Satrapi brought the graphic literature format to the attention of millions with her breakout memoir, "Persepolis." Her combination of political history, memoir, and sardonic coming-of-age tale became required reading in many classrooms and widely discussed in many book clubs. The Library presents a list of works by Satrapi and further reading about her home country, Iran. tinyurl.com/5yzn9dhm
