Finished this👌paper by @JessicaMaMD @chvanhoutven et al that outlines a process for identifying family caregivers in electronic health records. Agree w/ their conclusion: it's doable but costly, instead, let's build a #caregiver field in #EHR systems. Representation matters!
New in @jmirpub: Researchers were able to identify the presence of unpaid caregivers for approximately 60% of veterans who completed a phone screening using an EHR approach. More research is needed to increase the efficiency of caregiver identification. formative.jmir.org/2022/7/e3…
