More kindness in the forest today. This time for the birds and squirrels who don’t have a lot of food right now! They took great care finding a spot for the seeds that they think will be nice and easy for the birds to find.

As a kindness challenge, students were paired with a classmate they might not typically play with in the forest. We learned how to ask our friends about what they would like to do and solve the problems when two people would like to do something different! With @newsfromK124

Creating the Toronto Maples Leafs a new ACC arena! Amazing collaboration and science discoveries. They experimented with the best way to create smooth ice for the hockey players.

How can we pull a big log across the forest? Rope and team work! Lots of problem solving going on too. This crew spent almost their whole time moving that log from one end of the forest to the other.

Creating faces on trees led into a math game. How many snowballs are there? Can you tell without counting each one? We ❤️ math in the forest. The students were creating their own and challenging each other. With @newsfromK124

This group found a slug. They were worried it might be cold without a shell and with the strong breeze so they wanted to put a blanket over it. They searched and searched and decided to put leaves on the slug because it would be warm and soft. ❤️

A lot has changed in our forest. These students were wondering where all of the squirrels went! So we went looking for them and watch a few carefully to see what they were doing and where they were going.

We were inspired by the shapes that Ms Lavis’ class made outside. Thanks @inspirekiddos! So much math language related to sides, corners and shapes.

We made a really cool discovery at forest school! We found a mystery beetle hiding under a log and Ms Neu helped us to identify it…a violet ground beetle! 🪵🪲🟪 @KForestLearning

At the wood shop, students looked around for tools that could help them with their work. Some tools were good for breaking apart pieces of wood while others were great at making lines and marks in the wood. With @newsfromK124
