The story of a programmer trying to get a printer to work again:
First 8 months -> update drivers, code custom scripts, and clean out printer like a maniac - still not working
Last night -> give up and slam the printer in frustration, a cashew rolls out - printer now works
🤦🏾♂️
You ever felt bad about resting or relaxing? I feel like I have so much I want to do sometimes that I don’t want to chill out for a minute. ⠀ I think I’m finally learning to enjoy the rest/relaxation as part of the process now.
You might have done 100 coding challenges on Leetcode and STILL feel like you’re so far away from being good enough to pass an interview.. ..or still be failing all the interviews you get.. Rather than trying to cover as many problems as possible, here is a better way to build
This way, you build a “toolbox” of sorts that you can use to problem-solve in real time. Truth is, everyone feels this way when starting out, and there are ways to speed up the process, build that muscle, and eventually become more confident.
Forget “breaking into tech”. Maybe learn to code / leverage AI, build your own app/service, make it a business, and avoid the rat race altogether. Not at all easy either, but don’t forget it’s an option.
Be careful about choosing mentors; some are only helpful as long as they feel you are “below” them. Don’t ever want to see you perceivably “pass” them.
