NAME THAT YANK! A 4x Gold Glove winner who earned himself 2 batting titles, nicknamed “LeMachine” by teammate Gary Sanchez, he spent 7 years with the NYY. Appearing at 1B, 2B & 3B for roughly the same amount, this ultimate UT came in 4th in MVP votes one year posting 26 HRs, 102 RBI & a BA of .327. A versatile defensive sub at most infield spots, and a solid bat, his decline and ultimate DFA was one that personally was tough to get over. This is the SECOND PLAYER of this week’s theme. NAME THAT YANK! This LHB & 1B-man was drafted by BOS, debuted with SDP, then had the best chunk of his career with the team prior to becoming a yank. He won a WS & led the league in HBP 3x, it was as if he was a magnet to pitches. A Platinum Glove winner, 4x GG, this man combined with the captain to form a nickname that was deemed a dirty word. The Aaron Judge injury is not what you want, but I’m looking down the road at what a return in 4-6 weeks could mean: -He returns on July 4 and puts on a “fireworks show” for the rest of the season. -He returns after the ASG and puts the 6 weeks of production into October. 🙏🙏
