An apology is not an admission that you're a bad person. It's a step toward becoming a better person—and an expression of care for the other person. The most important part is not saying sorry. It's taking responsibility for what you did wrong and taking action to make it right. link.chtbl.com/RTAdam

Dear leaders: It’s time to stop penalizing people for unplugging on nights & weekends. 16 studies: Managers know detaching boosts performance & well-being, but still judge it as a lack of dedication in hiring & promotions. Healthy boundaries should be rewarded, not punished.

Working with students dedication to learn, a passion for change, and a willingness to challenge the status quo- this is how scholarly growth and system change occurs!
Three weeks after the birth of my son, I started my PhD journey @QueensUHealth with the amazing Dr. @KTerna as my supervisor. So far, it’s been a journey of utmost dedication, grace, and humbling growth. Indeed, words are powerful!

In toxic cultures, burnout is a badge of honor. Working through exhaustion is celebrated. In hustle cultures, burnout is a sign of weakness. Hiding exhaustion is rewarded. In healthy cultures, burnout is a call for help. Exhaustion highlights a workload problem to be solved.

When people don't stand up to bad leadership, it's rarely because they don't care. It's often because they feel powerless. Learned helplessness is the pattern of giving up when we learn that events in our lives are beyond our control. The answer is not to accept defeat. It's to find new avenues for influence.

Silence is not always a sign of disengagement. It's sometimes a symbol of deep reflection. The quieter people in the room aren't refusing to contribute. They're choosing to process before reacting. It's usually better to think without speaking than to speak without thinking.

A sign of maturity is caring more about being respected than being liked. Liking is shallow affection. It comes from being pleasant—you bend over backwards to accommodate others. Respect is deep regard. It's earned by being principled—you consistently stand up for your values.

Seeing every interaction as win-lose isn't smart. It's shortsighted. Evidence: People who view others' gains as their loss see potential allies as hostile and miss out on productive collaborations. In the long run, the best path to success and happiness is striving for win-win.

CNA welcomes modernization of Canada Health Act This milestone reflects Canada’s commitment to an accessible, comprehensive, and sustainable publicly funded health-care system. 👩‍⚕️ Nurse practitioners (NPs) play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective care across all health settings. Recognizing NP services as insured health services is a step toward solving the health workforce crisis and improving care for Canadians. Let’s work together to address funding challenges for NP positions across the country! 🇨🇦 #CdnHealth #NursePractitioners #CanadaHealthAct cna-aiic.ca/en/blogs/cn-cont…

One of the most reliable ways to improve our mental health is to help others. After being randomly assigned to do just 3 acts of kindness a week, people felt significantly less depressed, anxious, and lonely. Lifting others up elevates us too. Giving shows us that we matter.

The test of a relationship is not how much you enjoy each other’s highs. It’s how well you support each other’s lows. It’s easy to get along on a good day. Care is showing up on a hard day. The most reliable people in your life are the ones who step up when you're down.
