Kentucky hired a new football coach. Then Kentucky hired a new athletic director. Either that or they hired the same guy twice.

Thoughts from out of the Blue: Kentucky's next athletics director isn't just an AD anymore. J Batt may be the first person in school history hired to win games, raise money, negotiate contracts, manage NIL, oversee revenue sharing, and solve world peace before lunch. Welcome!šŸ™
Leader. Innovator. The man for the job. BBN, welcome J Batt as the CEO of Champions Blue, LLC and UK Athletics Director.

Thoughts from out of the Blue: Wildcat Lodge was built on the idea of brotherhood. The challenge in modern college basketball is that brothers don't usually enter the transfer portal every April.
Mark Pope is taking a unique approach to building chemistry ahead of his third season at Kentucky. šŸ€ All 14 scholarship players will live together in the Wildcat Coal Lodge this summer as the Wildcats begin an eight-week stretch of workouts, skill instruction, conditioning, and team bonding starting June 15. "The guys are all living in the lodge full-time during the course of the summer," Pope said. The Wildcats will also stay active in the community, with Pope emphasizing that building relationships off the court is just as important as what happens on it. 😼 #BBN

This Father’s Day, skip the tie. Give him a story. Whether he loves Kentucky basketball, leadership, family history, sports, inspiration, or simply a good read, there’s something here for every dad. And if you’re lucky, he’ll let you borrow it when he’s finished. #FathersDay

Thoughts from out of the Blue: The Knicks just reminded us why you keep watching. If every game ended when common sense said it should, sports would be a lot less interesting.
POV: you witnessed the game winner in person 🄹

Thoughts from out of the Blue: If Billy Gillispie really did fake phone calls to avoid people, he accidentally predicted modern society by about fifteen years. @cutler1300
Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA) faked a phone call for roughly 90 seconds after being asked about Speaker Mike Johnson’s comments regarding potential Social Security cuts. The phone's screen remained visible, with his cheek inadvertently tapping different parts of the display.

Thoughts from out of the Blue: Brendan Sorsby may have made the bets, but college sports created the environment. Gambling ads everywhere. Millions in NIL. Then we wonder why somebody eventually touches the hot stove.

ā€œThe old connection with fans has been lost. Players used to come to Kentucky because they wanted to be Wildcats. Fans embraced them because they represented Kentucky. Today, players come because Kentucky assembled the most competitive financial package.ā€huangswhinings.com/2026/06/0…

Seven million dollars. šŸ’° For one college basketball player.šŸ€ Maybe I'm old. Maybe college basketball has lost its mind. Or maybe Banner No. 9 is just that expensive. My latest thoughts on the reported price of doing business in the NIL era. šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡ huangswhinings.com/2026/06/0…

Most of us will never forget where we were when a loved one's mental health began to unravel. NAMI Family & Friends was created for that moment. If someone you care about is struggling, this free seminar may be one of the most valuable gifts you can give yourself—and them.

Thoughts from out of the Blue: Kentucky lowers concession prices and suddenly fans are acting like we've discovered nuclear fusion. Just a reminder that fans already paid for parking, tickets, donations, and merchandise. Maybe the pretzel doesn't need to cost twelve bucks too.
