12 having the best chemistry with River when he only has a single episode with her where she doesnโ€™t even know itโ€™s him for most of it is yet further proof that Peter Capaldi is THE goat

I know people expect big budgets for shows now but after rewatching RTD1 so much of it is just filmed in a couple locations per episode with most of them being industrial locations full of pipes and steam- and it was great! As long as the writings good who cares how much it costs
The Doctor is famed for having powers of regeneration, but the shape-shifting Time Lordโ€™s next transformation could well be the most challenging yet. Thatโ€™s the early verdict of UK industry insiders after the BBC dropped a TARDIS bombshell on Wednesday, when the broadcaster announced a major creative rethink of 'Doctor Who.' Gone is a Christmas special, which had been greenlit only eight months previously. And, perhaps more consequentially, showrunner Russell T Davies and producer Bad Wolf have abandoned ship. Two insiders said it was a mutual parting of the ways after all sides realized that 'Doctor Who' required a level of surgery that could not be masked by the sticking plaster of a festive episode. This creative surgery is expected to take years, potentially keeping the show off TV until 2028 at the earliest, sources said Read the full story here: deadline.com/2026/06/doctor-โ€ฆ (Photo: BBC)

I feel like Iโ€™ve asked this a dozen times but do we ever actually get an explanation for why the Tardis exploded? I know it was to do with the Silence but like how did they actually do it?

Ngl one of the biggest missteps of New Who is the lack of cultivation of new writers. Everybody knew a new wilderness era was a possibility but they didnโ€™t do anything to actually make sure the show had a viable future insightโ€ฆ Besides โ€œpromisingโ€ a Christmas special

Comparing how the classic series ended with the Doctor and Ace walking off into the sunset to have more adventures versus the Bad Wolf era ending with the show desperately clawing at 20 year old nostalgia things really have never been worse for the show lol
