Patrick Barnes, Vice President of Investor Relations and Business Development at the Kansas Chamber, spent time in Lindsborg yesterday connecting with members and community leaders. It was a great mix of leadership, local perspective, and community pride around one table, with Corey Peterson of Hemslojd, Inc., Rep. Rick Wilborn, Rep. Kristey Williams, Candidate Lori Schultz, and Mayor Clark Schultz all highlighting what makes Lindsborg such a strong and connected community. Kansas is stable, but stability alone isn’t enough to compete. The Kansas Chamber’s 2026 Competitiveness Bluebook shows where we stand today. Kansas ranks 33rd in total GDP and 49th in GDP growth, well below the national average. Population growth remains limited, and income ranks in the middle nationally. At the same time, Kansas continues to show strength in key areas like cost of doing business and business friendliness. The data is clear. Kansas has a strong foundation, but we are not keeping pace with faster-growing states. That is why Kansas Forward is focused on growing our population, strengthening our workforce, and increasing economic output. Understanding where we stand is the first step toward moving Kansas forward. ow.ly/ub9N50Z7e03

The Kansas Chamber was proud to join local and state leaders in Lawrence for the ribbon cutting of Penn Street Lofts and New Hampshire Lofts, an exciting investment in housing and community growth. Our President and CEO Eric Stafford and Tiffany Hall, Executive Director of the Kansas Chamber Education Foundation, attended to celebrate this milestone led by Tony Krsnich, a Kansas Chamber member and Leadership Kansas Class of 2024 alum. Tony hosted two ribbon cuttings that day, bringing together partners from across the community. The day also included elected officials, business leaders, and state representatives, including Lieutenant Governor David Toland, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development representative Crockett Worthington, Mike Amyx, Rob Holtz of the Lawrence Board of Realtors, and Lawrence Chamber President Bonnie Lowe. Projects like these reflect the power of collaboration between business, government, and local leadership. The Kansas Chamber is proud to support members who are strengthening communities and creating opportunity across Kansas.
