Earlier today, officials drawn from the KANU Nairobi Branch held their inaugural consultative meeting at KANU Gardens in Nairobi. Led by the Nairobi Branch Chairman Titus Otieno, the officials deliberated on the plans for grassroots elections to inject fresh blood into the party. The officials thereafter addressed the media, outlining their efforts to ensure that the party fields candidates across all the wards in Nairobi.

STATEMENT BY KANU WOMEN CONGRESS ON THE DEGRADING REMARKS BY SEN. KAREN NYAMU We have noted with deep concern the recent insensitive remarks laced with inappropriate undertones made by Senator Karen Nyamu towards a student at the gallery during proceedings on the floor of the Senate. It was a dishonorable display of indignity towards the innocence of childhood by a supposed honorable Senator. The Senate is a hallowed institution and the epitome of the rule of law and must remain a safe, dignified and protected space for children. Equally concerning was the Senator’s hesitation to offer an unqualified and unconditional apology despite clear direction from the Speaker. Public leaders bear a higher moral and ethical responsibility, and accountability must begin with those entrusted with public office. We therefore call upon the Senate to take appropriate disciplinary action and put in place firm measures to ensure dignity and protection for children interacting with public institutions. Anne Karuga Chairperson - Kanu Women Congress. Nairobi, Friday, May 8, 2026.

Today we celebrate the strength, courage and achievements of women across Kenya. It is only when we share opportunities, support one another, and work together that we create abundance for every woman. But today is also a reminder that many women still face abuse, injustice and discrimination. We must stand up for their rights, protect their dignity and take real action to ensure every woman and girl is safe, respected and able to pursue her dreams. When women rise, Kenya rises. Happy International Women’s Day to all our women. We love and cherish you.

Sunday Sermon - Genesis 8:1:
“But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and He sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.” On this Sunday, our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods due to the devastating floods. We stand in prayer and solidarity with every family facing loss and uncertainty.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE It is indeed a deeply sad evening for Kenya, and especially for the people of Emurua Dikirr, following the passing of my friend and compatriot, Hon. Johanna Ngeno. If there was a paragon of courage and conviction, then it was Hon. Ngeno. He was a rare breed of leader who said what he meant and meant what he said. He spoke his mind with clarity and stood firmly by his word. When it came to defending his constituents, he never wavered. Whether you agreed with him or not, his sincerity or boldness was unquestionable. As a young and fiery legislator, Hon. Ngeno had his whole life ahead of him. Yet, as is the destiny of every mortal soul, Hon. Johanna Ngong Ngeno Ole Kisiara has gone before us. We pray that the Almighty grants strength and comfort to his family, led by his wife, Mama Nayianoi Ntutu, as well as the family of the other victims of the crash during this painful time. On behalf of the Moi family and the entire KANU fraternity, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Emurua Dikirr. Hon. Gideon Moi National Chairman - KANU.
