Japan has to be home of the most useless point cards in the world. At this cafe, you get a stamp after spending ¥500. After collecting 10 stamps, you get a whopping ¥50 discount! I dont know why I bother.

I've been here for over 20 years and I always get おみまい(hospital visit) and おみあい(marriage matchmaking) mixed up. The looks I get at the hospital when I use the wrong word! Whoops!
What? Setsubun isn't a Japanese national holiday? I was soooo looking forward to having a 4-day week. Who do I need to talk to to make it a national holiday?

I picked the perfect year to give up sending out New Years Cards (to all of 10 people). Because coincidentally or not, none of them sent me a card this year either!
Such a great feeling when I can finally merge a PR that I've worked on for weeks! I only wish that when you finally hit the "merge" button, kick-ass, mission accomplished music would play.

Working in an all-Japanese speaking company is super tough. But today, my co-worker tried to help me out a little. He said he had 「げり」 And I guess he thought I didn't know what that meant, so he translated it as "water poo". That's a great definition, I thought!

Working in a 100% Japanese-speaking company is totally draining me, but it's sure been an experience. And not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but seems like my Japanese has improved much faster than my Java skills😆

After over 2 months of only writing documentation for my company, we're finally entering the development phase. Will finally start writing some Java today! I'm super excited, but super nervous!

It's such a weird time we live in now. I actually look forward to dentist and doctor appointments now because it's the only time I ever leave the house.

I did my first couple of algorithm problems in Java tonight! The first thing I need to do is stop thinking, "this would be so much easier in Javascript because I can do this or that" and just start focusing on how to do it in Java instead. #Java #javascript #algorithms
