ALT 8 Things Teachers Should Know...about having a student with T1D! 1. I wear pretty cool gadgets to help keep me alive! 2. Sometimes I may need to eat in class. 3. An insulin pump/injections aren't a cure. 4. Some days are a rollercoaster of highs and lows. 5. My diabetes doesn't define me! 6. I use the bathroom a lot when my blood sugar is high. 7. I will need immediate attention if I tell you my blood sugar is low. 8. If I'm not concentrating, it may be because I'm low and need to check my blood sugar.

Grade 5s were lucky to get an intro to @microbit_edu with @KariHarding9 yesterday. Today they got to explore. Some coded their microbits to spell their names and some were able to play rock paper scissors. We had so much fun! @LambethPS1 @TVDSB_STEM

Another #OrangeShirtDay tip for schools. Many families struggle with finding orange shirts for the day, even though they want to support. Here is a sticker template that uses Avery 5214. Schools can print stickers for students to show their support.🧡🪶
