The Uber hack is quite severe and wide ranging. Wishing their blue teams the best of luck and love during this understandably difficult period. Some thoughts & observations based on what we've seen so far 👉 1/N

Awesome talk from @amit_sinha on his career so far - some really interesting insights. Massive thanks to @makersacademy for putting on the talk!

A fellow @makersacademy alumni who I've been mentoring through their job hunt has just landed their first role - and at the company I work at! So happy for the dude in question; he's been on the hunt for a while, and his hardwork has paid off. Buzzed
I don't work with JS outside of personal projects, but definitely pouring one out for my homie Axios
Somehow missed @TechTeamWeekly restarting! V excited for this
S2E2 is out! This week, we're discussing #goals vs #habits - topical with the arrival of a new year! Even with @neilstudd and @gwendiagram's love for getting off topic, we've managed to keep it shorter 🙌 techteamweekly.com/episode/1…

On Friday, a few of us spent our day training a GPT-3 model - the end result is a dungeon crawler that outputs in quasi-Haikus. The future is truly here
Not software, but spent the weekend building a new PC. Always super super fun.
Bad take. Have spent years helping looking after one of the world's biggest tabletop wargaming clubs, and trying to work to make the community welcoming requires serious work. Gatekeeping is certainly a thing, even if you haven't experienced it.

I like it, though I once had a flatwhite and a double espresso in the same day. Legit thought I was ill. Sweats/tremors lol

So... potentially controversial: but is anyone else's perspective on Web3.0 "wait and see"? I might be missing something—but if engineers/PMs feel passionately enough to try to build a better platform, I'm happy to cheer them on and wait to see what (if anything!) materializes.

Finally decided to pull the trigger on my new PC. My 980ti has served me amazingly well for over half a decade, but it's going to live with my little brother now. And by now, I mean by the time I find a not ridiculously-priced 3070ti/3080, depending on my luck 😊
In awe of people like @KalindiFonda who set 5am alarms to get a headstart on #AdventOfCode2021 - I kind of resigned to the fact that being in Europe meant later #adventofcode starts - apparently not!!

I just completed "Dive!" - Day 2 - Advent of Code 2021 adventofcode.com/2021/day/2 #AdventOfCode

Good point made by @neilstudd on @TechTeamWeekly this week (that his check-in wasn't necessarily accurate as he was excited to have his fellow podcast hosts join the call). I often over-score myself in EQ check-ins as I'm pretty extroverted and get excited when people turn up!
