"not clicking" with Capaldi usually translates as "whiny child upset that the doctor had white hair and looked older", like his episodes wheren't amongst the best the show ever had right from the start

The general public did not really click with the Capaldi, Whittaker or Gatwa era.
It’s not really one person’s fault. It’s just something that’s sadly got worse over time leading to us now where it feels like the public has forgotten Doctor Who.

One reason I'm wary of the thesis that UFOs and fairy experiences represent different interpretations/cultural processing of the same phenomena is that such approaches implicitly privilege the more 'modern' UFO encounters over fairy experiences as an obsolete counterweight
