I went to Grenfell the morning after with
@jeremycorbyn. It remains the most vivid and harrowing of my memories. We cannot collectively forget this horror and all of us must keep pushing the ongoing battle for justice.
This evening, survivors, their families and this community once again walked silently through the streets around Grenfell Tower. They will never stop fighting for justice.
They marked the ninth anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire - and the lives of the 72 people who died.
Despite the ongoing work to deconstruct the building, it remains a monument to this country’s housing inequalities - where people continue to be forced to live in unsafe homes. Governments failed to make the tragedy a turning point for Britain’s housing crisis.
It is truly shameful that no one has been held to account - including those in corporations, local government and national government.
We stand with survivors fighting for truth and justice - and to ensure those responsible are held to account.
