I went to Grenfell the morning after with @jeremycorbyn. It remains the most vivid and harrowing of my memories. We cannot collectively forget this horror and all of us must keep pushing the ongoing battle for justice.
This evening, survivors, their families and this community once again walked silently through the streets around Grenfell Tower. They will never stop fighting for justice. They marked the ninth anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire - and the lives of the 72 people who died. Despite the ongoing work to deconstruct the building, it remains a monument to this country’s housing inequalities - where people continue to be forced to live in unsafe homes. Governments failed to make the tragedy a turning point for Britain’s housing crisis. It is truly shameful that no one has been held to account - including those in corporations, local government and national government. We stand with survivors fighting for truth and justice - and to ensure those responsible are held to account.

Thank you @RachelReevesMP for meeting with Sharon and GMB potters, right here in the Midlands. British ceramics are the envy of the world. The Government’s new support will create jobs and support the sector for the future.

NEW Chancellor announces new restriction on use of judicial review for “critical infrastructure” clean energy projects - ie wind and nuclear - and time limitation for other projects, roads, rail and reservoirs - this is in addition to the streamlining of the process in the planning law. Will curb environmental challenges to big infrastructure plans.

Doubt anyone in the PLP could help secure Keir more right now than Josh. 🙃🙈
🚨 LABOUR AT WAR 🚨 💥 Former Starmer ally Josh Simons sparks angry backlash after saying PM has "lost the country" and must quit. 💥 Minister tells HuffPost UK: "This sort of behaviour is why Josh is widely disliked and mistrusted by every part of the Labour Party." 💥 Government source: "This is a desperate attempt at an epilogue by Josh for a political career that has already ended in disgrace, less than two years in." 💥 Labour MP hits back: "Josh is right. The briefing operation against him is a pretty ham-fisted attempt at intimidating other colleagues." 💥 Left-wing MPs urge Catherine West to ditch plan to trigger leadership election tomorrow, warning it will shut out Andy Burnham. 💥 Education secretary Bridget Phillipson insists Starmer will set out "fresh direction" in major speech tomorrow and lead Labour into next election. Full story on a dramatic day 👇 huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/l…

Once again. Pretending it’s 1997 is not a strong political strategy.
