Absolutely wild scenes that I, having been diagnosed with ADHD at 14, have to join a 5 year waiting list for a new ADHD service because I moved borough. My GP cannot prescribe medication until I'm on the new books. Under-resourcing doesn't just impact those awaiting diagnosis !

If you're unfamiliar with the process, ADHD medication is handled by psychiatrists who also do routine checks on thyroid etc given ADHD meds are a Schedule II substance in the UK. You cannot just go to your GP and get a prescription without a shared support agreement
