I often watch a talk one gives, and wonder, "does anyone else see what I do?" As someone who has had to prepare lectures in academic settings, or make presentations in corporate settings, the hubris that so many of them show is just so jarring.
Spoke at a youth conference where they did a game giving a quote and 5 dudes had to guess whether it was from the book of Lamentations or a Taylor Swift song.
It was fantastic.
I also see it as yet another way to silence the real concerns and problems teachers are facing. It avoids talking about real stuff while inducing guilt in the teacher for wanted something better for their students.
I love data meetings.
Hey, how come your test scores aren't as high as the person who just told us all she gives a quiz the day before the test with the exact test questions on it, then grades it, gives feedback, and let's the students look at their notes during the test?
