This is a Roman altar that has been given a 2nd life as an early Christian cross. The alteration is #AngloSaxon in date. The stone is now in St. Andrewโ€™s Church, Corbridge. The #Roman site guarded a river crossing and two intersecting Roman roads. #SundayStonework ๐Ÿ“ท my own.

Non lo sapevo...Grazie mille per condividerlo...
INBIDE CALCOTE is Latin for "Envious one, I tread on you". It is on a mosaic floor in a Fishmongerโ€™s in Ostia, Ancient Romeโ€™s seaport. The phrase accompanies a dolphin eating an octopus. Both ward off the evil eye, bad luck, or competitors. #MosaicMonday #Archaeology #Rome My ๐Ÿ“ท

Posting for #RomanSiteSaturday. The Roman period in #Butrint was only one era in the long history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I went to write in my garden office at 8.00 am where I was treated to the angle grinder symphony courtesy of a thoughtful neighbour. A hasty retreat to the dining room table, coffee โ˜•๏ธ, and calm is restored. #WritingLife #SundayVibes #AmWriting
