ALT My name is Iqraa Jalil. I’m going into my 3rd year of studying Medicine and I’m going to be your Head Sister next year! This means I am responsible for the smooth running of events on the sisters’ side of the society, and am always a point of contact if anyone has any queries or suggestions. ISOC is a society close to my heart because it is where I have had some of my most memorable experiences and made my closest friends Alhamdullilah. Moving away from home can be a daunting experience, so I want to recreate the warm welcome I received when I came to university, for others, and provide a safe and non-judgemental space for all sisters, no matter who they are, and be there for everyone who needs a helping hand! This year, I have lots of ambitions to help ISoc grow into an inclusive, welcoming space. I want to create an environment where we can all learn together and become better Muslims and kinder humans Insha’Allah....

ALT Assalaamu Alaikum! My name is Imran and I shall be your Head Brother for the upcoming academic year Insha'Allah. So who am I? Raised in Cheltenham, I'm a cricket fan, poetry lover and an avid traveller. I'm also a second year Law student who, like every Law student, is secretly crying inside. "You don't choose Law, Law chooses you" - Imran 2021 On a serious note, I shall be responsible for the society and committee in leading campaigns and ensure events run accordingly alongside the Head Sister. However, for me it is as much about supporting the society as a whole and wider community as we make our way out of a year that has been arduous and stressful. I hope along with my fellow committee members, to revive the pre-COVID atmosphere that has been missing since the pandemic's arrival. ALT Vice head sis introduction post Assalamualaikum all! My name is Saara, a second year Education and Sociology student and your Vice Head sister for this academic year. My role includes sharing responsibilities and standing in absence of the heads as well as ensuring everyone in the commitee is supported. Due to the pandemic, it has been difficult for us being isolated from our friends and family, so In sha Allah I can be part of cultivating the beauty of Islam on campus where everyone can flourish and achieve to their best potential. In my spare time you'll find me talking about how much I love cats, creating a scrapbook of memories, painting and baking sweet treats in the kitchen. I'm definitely a bookworm and enjoy reading about Islam. I look forward to welcoming you to Keele and making your transition to University as smooth as possible. ALT Assalamu alaykum everyone! My name’s Ehtesham, and I’ll be this years Education Officer as I enter my second year at Keele. My aim is to, first and foremost, use this as an opportunity to better myself as a Muslim, and pray that the ISOC can also offer this for our members too. I like to cook, and love to explore nature. I try to take nice photos, but a lack of good equipment just means I end up setting myself up for disappointment. Looking forward to meeting you all in sha Allah!

ALT Salaam, I’m Talhah, from Manchester, and I will be the treasurer for the ISoc for the forthcoming year. I’m a third year Biomed student and have appreciated the role of the ISoc and the balance it gives to academic life, here at Keele. We hope, in’sha’Allah, to offer the full-fat isoc student experience now that things are getting back to normal following the pandemic. I enjoy walking and outdoor pursuits and look forward to meeting you.

ALT Assalamu'alaykum everyone! My name is Maymunah, and this year I will be your PR Officer! My role is to keep you all up-to-date on events, managing social media and hopefully capture some of the memories we'll be making this year as things begin to open up after a difficult year and a half. In my spare time, I love reading and writing stories (especially children's fiction) and keeping up Disney, Marvel and a few other things! So if you need any recs for some good kids books, I'm your girl :) I pray that this year will be one that is fulfilling, in terms of both our studies and our imaan, and allow us to grow as good Muslims and human beings.
