We remember PSD Jago, who was tragically killed while on duty in High Prairie five years ago today, on June 17, 2021. Our thoughts go out to Jago’s handlers and family, those in the High Prairie community, and all who knew and loved him. Forever a good boy. Rest in peace, Jago.

That means local priorities are still front and centre, with the added support that smaller or rural communities might not be able to access on their own. It’s a balance that’s already working across Alberta. Support keeping the RCMP in Alberta today: keepalbertarcmp.ca/

Red Deer RCMP Members recently hosted another Coffee with a Cop, creating a simple but meaningful way to connect with the community. These kinds of events give people a chance to stop by, ask questions, share what’s on their mind, and get to know the Members behind the uniform.

Across Alberta, many RCMP Members give their time outside of uniform to coach, mentor, and support youth. Sgt. Viergutz, the RCMP detachment commander in Grande Cache, is one of them, serving on a community board and coaching baseball. We love to see it! Photo: RCMP in Alberta
