I’ve spent months talking about the need for stronger oversight and accountability in Ohio’s public benefits system. The headlines may be new, but the problems are not. I’m glad to see these issues are finally getting attention. We owe it to taxpayers to keep digging, keep asking questions, and keep fighting fraud, waste, and abuse.
In March, Auditor Faber informed the House and Senate Medicaid Committees of anomalies in the home healthcare system that might indicate the presence of large amounts of fraud, waste & abuse.   If you have evidence of fraud, go to ohioauditor.gov & click Report Fraud

Congratulations to my friend @AlexTriantafilou on his reelection as Chairman of the @ohiogop. Under his leadership, our party is united, energized, and ready to win. I look forward to continuing to work together to deliver victory for Republicans across Ohio this November.
TODAY: Chairman Alex M. Triantafilou unanimously re-elected as Chairman of the Ohio Republican Party. He had this to say: “I am humbled by the trust of the State Central Committee and ready to get right back to work. The 2026 midterms will decide who fights for Ohio in Columbus and in Washington. Our job is clear. We are going to elect Vivek Ramaswamy as Governor, send Jon Husted to the United States Senate, and stand with Republicans up and down the ballot in every one of Ohio's 88 counties.”

As Auditor, I’ve always believed transparency and accountability are essential to public trust. SJR 10 gives Ohioans the chance to decide whether photo voter ID should be enshrined in our state constitution, an important step toward ensuring confidence in our elections.
Senate President Rob McColley signed Senate Joint Resolution 10 this afternoon, sending the voter photo ID constitutional amendment to the November ballot. He also signed a dozen bills passed this week, now headed to the Governor's desk. Ohio voters will have the final say this fall.

Wherever there are big government programs backed by big government spending, there will be people who find ways to exploit loopholes and lax controls to fill their own pocketbooks. Every dollar lost to fraud, waste, and abuse costs Ohioans who genuinely rely on these services.

Since 2019, State Auditor @KeithFaber has identified over $9 BILLION in waste, fraud, and abuse. As Ohio’s next Attorney General, @KeithFaber will build off the same momentum to protect taxpayer dollars and hard-working Americans!

When we uncover fraud, we prosecute it. When we find waste or abuse, we flag the control weaknesses that enabled it. Agencies that fail to take corrective action are asking taxpayers to subsidize the abuse of the system, and that's unacceptable.

Medicaid dollars are meant to care for the vulnerable, not to be manipulated through miscoding or used to hide procedures on minors. This settlement sends the right message: protect kids, protect taxpayers, and hold institutions accountable.
The Cleveland Clinic settled with the State of Ohio and USDOJ Friday after an investigation revealed they mis-coded Medicaid billing to disguise transgender procedures on minors. They agreed to halt of procedures for 20 years, and funding $2 million and transitioning care.

Ohio families should be able to enjoy a festival, fundraiser, or community event without fear of violence. What happened in Toledo and what we’ve seen in communities across Ohio is unacceptable. We need leaders who will back law enforcement, restore accountability, and make clear that violent crime has consequences.

Today, we honor the heroes of D-Day whose courage on the beaches of Normandy changed the course of history. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today. We must never forget.

Today I joined federal and state partners to announce collaborative enforcement actions to detect and prosecute public benefits fraud through data sharing agreements, financial analysis, and criminal charges. When we work together, fraudsters run out of places to hide.

Our audits have consistently shown that #Medicaid has to do a better job of verifying eligibility to protect taxpayer funds. @NewsNation

Big government programs need to be held accountable. Medicaid is meant to serve the vulnerable, not enrich bad actors who exploit weak controls.

Our audits have flagged systemic weaknesses within Medicaid for years. Today’s announcement from state and federal partners reinforces our work on behalf of Ohio taxpayers. We welcome all efforts to protect public funds and hold fraudsters accountable.
.@DAGToddBlanche on the Fraud Division's federal-state partnership in Ohio to prosecute fraud: "This is an example when federal and state partners work together toward justice — our cases are stronger, the deterrence is greater, and the biggest problems facing our country start to look solvable because they are."

Dr. Oz is right to call this out. In our March testimony, we specifically warned that roughly 12% of Ohio’s home health care agencies were concentrated in just two ZIP codes near Morse Road and State Route 161. It is exactly why we have been pushing for stronger controls, better data, and real accountability in Medicaid.
.@DrOzCMS on the healthcare fraud he's seen in Ohio: "Unfortunately, this area around Columbus is responsible for 1/3 of all of the $1.5B spent on home healthcare in Ohio... that's 3x what you would expect... it defies belief. Some of these buildings were vacant."

Ohioans work too hard to see their tax dollars stolen, wasted, or abused. We’ve uncovered nearly $9B in waste, fraud, and abuse, and we’re not slowing down. Accountability matters. dailysignal.com/2026/06/03/o…

Appreciate Rep. Pizzulli’s leadership and advocacy for Southern Ohio. The Department’s enhanced review of new behavioral health provider applications is an important step to strengthen screening, ownership transparency, and oversight. Our audits identified over $1.4M in improper payments in just two Scioto County provider audits. Accountability protects taxpayers, good providers, and the Ohioans recovery programs are meant to serve.

At a time when affordability is top of mind for Ohioans, we cannot allow taxpayer dollars to be lost to fraud, waste, and abuse. Every dollar should be spent as intended, serving the people these programs were created to help.
🚨 @OhioAuditor Faber delivers a powerful walkthrough of the devastating real-life impact of fraud and corruption plaguing Medicaid and other critical programs before @GOPOversight.

Thank you again Chairman @RepBrandonGill for the invitation to testify. I was proud to share our work with Congress as we continue fighting to protect taxpayers and the vulnerable Ohioans Medicaid is meant to serve.
Auditor Faber testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses about Medicaid fraud, waste, and abuse and how our office is promoting transparency and accountability on behalf of taxpayers.
