Thank you to readers everywhere; my family & friends; everyone at Atria Books who believed in me; all the indie booksellers who hosted events; and the people who lived this story & trusted me to tell it. This little underdog book has done it. We are a New York Times bestseller.
Kudos to the person who made this—and thoughts and prayers to all the New Yorkers who are supposed to working today. Safe to say, not much will be getting done in the city today. 💙🧡💙

The Indiana Fever have revoked the credential of the longest-serving reporter covering the team. Scott Agness announced that he has been banned because of his reporting on Caitlin Clark’s surprising absence from a game in May. Banning a reporter is never the right thing to do.
New signing pen alert! And it’s perfect for my new book. If you want signed copies of HEARTLAND in time for Father’s Day, you can always order them through my local store, Water Street Books, in Exeter NH. Check out the link here: waterstreetbooks.com/keith-o…

I just finished this great book on Larry Bird & the incredible Indiana State phenomenon by @KeithOB. There’s so much great college basketball history & research here with cameos by Bob Knight, Magic Johnson, Al McGuire, Dick Enberg and Billy Packer.
In 1978, when Pete Rose was a free agent for the first time, Ted Turner tried to get Rose to sign with the Atlanta Braves. It almost worked. Pete loved money—and Ted. But in the end, he chose Philadelphia, a better team. RIP Ted Turner, a man who almost changed baseball history.
The Celtics might have been eliminated, but the HEARTLAND book tour rolls on! I’ll be in Nashua, N.H., this Saturday, May 9, at Balin Books. If you’re in the neighborhood, come out for a fun afternoon discussing basketball, miracles, and Larry Bird. 🏀📚☘️
The great @Dan_Shaughnessy isn’t playing around this morning:
“Make no mistake: Stubborn Joe Mazzulla and the three-chucking Celtics deserved to lose. Never adjusting, they died by the ridiculous shot.”

These are dark days for Boston sports fans. The Super Bowl blowout. The Vrabel fallout. The Cora firing. The sputtering Sox. The elimination of the Bruins. And now, just 24 hours later, the full & total collapse of the Celtics to the hated Sixers. Gonna be a long week on WEEI.
