After an unfortunate chemical incident which rendered all the greens at WP9 unalive, @KeithRhebb and I find ourselves back on site for the remodel’s 10 year anniversary - almost to the day. Rest assured, the new greens will be better than ever, with a full bunker reno to boot.

The Bootlegger short course is wildly popular among our stay & play guests. In fact, Golfweek magazine just ranked it No. 21 nationally among short/non-traditional courses. Be sure to add it to your 2026 package. Check out the full rankings from Golfweek here. golfweek.usatoday.com/story/…

Our woods nine renovation @stcharleswpg is starting the grow-in phase. Some pics of holes 1-5 & 8. The work by @RhebbAndJohns is truly spectacular. Our former Woods nine has been transformed with proper drainage, subtle relief and stunning bunkers. @RileyJohnsGolf @KeithRhebb

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Lew Thompson, former owner of Forest Dunes and a man whose vision and passion helped shape the course and community we are all proud to be part of today. Lew was more than just an owner—he was a steward of the game of golf and a true believer in the potential of Forest Dunes. Through his leadership, dedication, and love for the property, he elevated Forest Dunes into one of the premier golf destinations in the country. Many of the experiences we now cherish—the beauty of the course, the innovation of The Loop, and the sense of community that exists here—were guided by Lew’s belief in what Forest Dunes could become. Beyond his accomplishments in golf, Lew deeply loved his family and was especially proud of his children and grandchildren, who brought him great joy. Whether it was greeting guests with a smile, or simply enjoying time with friends on the course, Lew’s presence was felt by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lew’s family during this difficult time. We ask that you join us in honoring his memory. Lew will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

❓ What are those large shiny silver poles on Park Avenue? If you have driven onto Park Avenue from Fairbanks or Webster avenues, you may have noticed two very large, shiny silver poles greeting you at each entrance. Do not be alarmed, charm is on its way. ✨ In late August, the silver poles on the north end (by Webster Avenue) will be transformed into a beautiful historic gateway sign. Then in late September, the same will happen to the poles on the south end (by Fairbanks Avenue). These two new gateways were designed to honor downtown Winter Park’s heritage and historic significance. The Downtown Winter Park Historic District, in 2011, was added to the National Register of Historic Places, the official listing of historically significant sites and properties throughout the country.

Editing a Bill Coore interview on routing, and specifically their latest at Crazy Mountain Ranch in Montana. What a gift this man is to the game and modern golf architecture. Here he is reviewing their work on the first hole.🔥 If I were to summarize his secret? He walks. And walks. And walks. And then walks some more. And he doesn’t stop walking the land and reviewing their work until it’s done.🐐
