I’d not been a fan of Starmer since I met him (personality free zone) but believed he was the best option as PM. I latterly realised he will never be a true leader. I now realise he (& Reeves) are a threat to national security.

Some say ‘give him/her a chance’ whether about Streeting or whoever. This is about being PM, not starting a paper round. Can we have someone who has actually achieved something, other than for themselves.

Leadership is a complex concept subject to many theories. All agree however, a leader requires followers, it requires belief in the leader. If this isn’t established early it doesn’t happen. Starmer missed his chance. The UK needs a leader.

Lord Hogan-Howe to lead @ukhomeoffice review of policing. He’s widely viewed as mad in police circles, contributed to the Met’s decline & brooks no views that differ from his own. Poor, poor choice @ShabanaMahmood . Result won’t be good & this reflects on you.

Politicians can be wrong, and often are, but when a former MI6 chief speaks, he is not offering an opinion. It is an educated statement based on years of experience dealing with real dangers and real issues that go beyond any sort of bias.
The Green Party is a threat to Britain’s national security. That's a fact. You would have to be incredibly dim-witted not to see it.

The UK PM/govt should decide what it wants to do geopolitically based upon UK strategic interest. It should then look to international law as a consideration. It shouldn’t start with the law. We needs politicians to lead now not lawyers.

I’ve never supported the UK handing Chagos to Mauritius. It’s simply not realpolitik. But previous US(Trump) support was obviously the product of a wider negotiation. Trump’s current comment illustrates he cannot be trusted, at all, on anything.

If the US was really concerned about any Russian threat (eg to Greenland) it would support its defeat in Ukraine, not blame Ukraine. Russia wants NATO to collapse. US action makes that more likely. Where is the real coordination here?

I hope, secretly, the UK is expediting the wherewithal to manufacture our own nuclear warheads & multiple delivery systems. Realpolitik must replace reliance on international law/rules & dialogue, above hard power.
