I (a teenage brat) was quietly skeptical about these protests when I was a student. Not only did they succeed, UChicago immediately memory-holed all the counterarguments they raised!
That changed my view of the potential for campus protest to change "real" policy.

A thing I think about a lot: the main issue on campus when I was at UChicago was a push by activists to have the university open a trauma center, partially to help shooting victims. Much discussion about how unworkable and moronic it was. Anyway, it's been open for six years now.
