New paper out in @JBMRPlus! Using a time-lapse co-culture approach with osteoclasts and reversal cells, we show that reversal cells prefer pits over trenches, but that intermediate #CatK inhibition boosts their attraction and maturation into #osteoblasts academic.oup.com/jbmrplus/ar…

Using time-lapse recording, we show in @SciReports how human #osteoclasts respond to inhibition of #CatK. We show that fusion during bone resorption may overcome inhibition! Lots of video material included. rdcu.be/dCJT3

Today I joined the BigBang Conference for teachers of science in secondary and highschool. I presented on #osteoporosis followed by a discussion on how this can be made relevant for pupils in 7th to 10th grade. Very stimulating and very engaged teachers - a great pleasure 😊

Legalized use of #cannabis is debated and in many countries it is legalized. We have tested the effect of the cannabinoids, #THC and #CBD, on human bone cells, #osteoclasts and #osteoblasts. #THC and #CBD use may have consequences for bone health. doi.org/10.1016/j.bone.2024.…
