Some people claim that the fact Biden only won 1 of 19 bellwether counties in 2020 is evidence of fraud in the election. The 19 counties in this case are the only counties that voted for every winning president from 1980 through 2016.

The Gimpel paper appears to have treated some counties as having voted for the winner when a third party candidate was a winner in one of the previous 10 elections, which is likely the reason our counts are different.

Also, the Algara dataset and the Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections have conflicting data for the 1964 vote in Meigs County, Tennessee. There may be other discrepancies.
