Santa Anita starts the last weekend of its winter-spring meet today at 1 p.m. with morning lines showing Bob Baffert-trained filly Mizumi odds-on in the Summertime Oaks and Mark Glatt’s turf sprinter First Peace favored in the Daytona. There’s racing Sunday and an added Monday.

Santa Anita said the 6-year-old, claiming-level mare Shangrilama was euthanized today after being injured while finishing 4th in Friday’s 9th race. It’s the 11th horse death in racing and training at Santa Anita since the season began Dec. 28. There were 8 in this span last year.
