Throwback to our incredible #worldmentalhealthday talent show - our cohort had some amazing, inspiring performances ⭐️
Just in case you missed it, no FOMO - you can catch them performing at our next #openmic 4 #mentalhealth at @popbrixton in a week's time - 28th October, 2:30!
If a young person you are working with begins to feel their breath getting quicker and out of control, use this activity to help them slow down their breathing and calm down.
ALT Breathe it through. Stretch your fingers as wide as you can. Take slow deep breaths in and deep breaths out as you trace around each finger. Take your time with it. You might find it helpful to close your eyes while breathing through.
Thrilled to be bringing pop-up recording studio sessions to the wards at Laureate House, Wythenshawe Hospital @GMMH_NHS Sessions can open a pathway to our community programme offering hope for the future post-discharge #Manchester#mentalhealth#musicproduction#wellbeing
The ongoing and at times unnecessary battles with statutory services further complicated the already challenging path to appropriate support, luckily Juvenis advocated for my rights to support…
Privileged to have just had the most incredible performances from young people working with @keychangesmusic
Their moving performance shows the value of investing in alternative ways to meet mental health needs and in culturally sensitive ways - and bringing to the surface incredible talent!!
Thanks so much!! 🙏🙏

ALT An illustration of someone looking stressed, with text above them that reads:
How to deal with low mood after graduation by Alyssa
ALT The text reads: Add structure to daily life
It's easy to sleep in until 3 pm, but it's important to integrate a routine after uni. Wake up at a certain time and work on healthy habits in your day-to-day. The smallest of actions can help boot your mood.
Practice Mindfulness
Consider trying out mindfulness. Take 10 minutes out of your day to breathe and take steps to integrate exercises such as gratitude lists. This can help you with a positive mindset.
ALT The text reads:
Talk to someone
Your feelings matter, no matter how silly you might feel about them. Consider reaching out to a friend or a family member, and you never know, they may have felt the same at one point. They might have good advice.
Consider professional help
If you feel like you're really struggling, then consider reaching out to your GP or a professional who can help you through this. Your feelings are valid and you are not alone.

Beyond the bassline: 500 years of Black British Music at the British library. There are 100s of ways to make frameworks like this. A rich history we have and why I get so mad we get reduced to ‘hip hop and r&b’ in so many places.
