This afternoon, Year 2 have had a fantastic time pond dipping at Rockery Close. They found lots of different minibeasts in lots of different habitats. The children were super excited when they found newts in the pond🐞🐝🦋

Today, the school council visited The Well for a VE Day event, met 100-year-old WRNS veteran Celica, rode in a vintage car, and spoke live on BBC Radio. A powerful, hands-on history lesson they’ll never forget. #VEDay #WWII #HistoryAlive

Today Year 2 started learning about lines of symmetry! We had a lesson exploring how to find and spot lines of symmetry and we rotated around 3 activities; folding on shapes, mirroring leaves and painting minibeasts, folding to find the lines of symmetry! 🦋

In Year 2 we have been learning about the parts of a plant and what each parts job is. We created a picture of a plant and labelled the key parts; petals, stem, leaves and roots!

This week in Year 2 we are starting our new art learning journey! We have been learning about and practising sketching and shading on shapes today. We will be learning all about the artist Nives Palmic this week to inspire our artwork! 🎨
