My oldest friend says never expect great care from people who don’t universally show consideration and respect for each other in the workplace. Just look around you at the litter and mess left by some staff for others to clear up and you’ll see what he means.

My naivety laid bare this morning by conversation on the 05.43 bus to Canterbury amongst a group returning after an all night session in Whitstable – no club these days will survive if it doesn’t give access to and supply sufficient variety of drugs, alcohol is no longer enough

I'm an i/p on our CCU. Experienced great care throughout, starting in resus in an enormously busy A&E all the way through the emergency cardiac pathway with empathetic caring treatment from everybody from housekeepers to interventional cardiologists. Great care from great teams

Very sorry to hear our CEO is standing down. She has made a great number of improvements at the most difficult of times. For once it would be nice to hear the HSJ acknowledge that.

So- it’s out!!!! We are recruiting 7 (yes 7!) consultant geriatricians in both acute and community trusts in east Kent. Come talk to us- we want enthusiasm and patient focussed people. Watch the video of @Pmaca77 and I discussing the vision on link below

Nice to hear some positive stuff "Cath Campbell, CQC’s head of hospital inspections, said: “Our inspectors found a number of examples of outstanding practice when looking at infection prevention and control measures at East Kent Hospitals.”

On leave. Day began with reading some senseless drivel in the HSJ but massively improved by witnessing the selfless commitment and dedication of our vaccine teams. Thank you all of you

Sung by my 90 yr old mother (Valentine Stevens) on Thursday evenings to the tune of the national anthem: God save our NHS, Doctors and Nursing staff, God save them all.   Send them their PPE, Life-saving masks and gowns, God save our NHS, Long live them all.

Our lab has now tested 900 NHS staff - more than the rest of Kent put together despite some major challenges. Well done all and a big thank you for what you're doing

We're all a bit worried and apprehensive, but I've never been prouder of people. Whether you're in A&E, in the 'blue' wards, in ITU, up on Mount & McMaster caring for aggressive wandering Covid-19 positive dementia patients or in the lab testing for Covid-19. Fantastic work!
