Old DeFi contracts do not retire quietly. ⚔️
#Aztec Connect, a deprecated privacy-focused DeFi system, was reportedly exploited for around $2.1M after an attacker targeted legacy smart-contract logic. Aztec’s current network and current user assets were reported as unaffected, but the message for the market is bigger than one protocol.
In crypto, “old” does not mean “gone.”
If a contract is still live, still holding funds, and still callable, it can still become a battlefield.
This is the kind of story serious communities should watch closely. Not because it is panic fuel, but because it exposes the discipline gap between building fast and securing forever.
