The team of the governor of Syria’s Central Bank, Abdulkadder Husrieh, reached out to share more information about when card payments might finally become a reality in the country, after 15 years of war and sanctions. A Swedish citizen, Alaa Al-Din, traveled to Qamishli on Sept 7 to visit family and prepare for marriage.
On Oct 20 he was arrested by the SDF.
On March 8 his family was told to collect his body- tortured to death in detention.
