I love this infographic. So many people either underestimate or dismiss the role of the educator/researcher in care delivery. Yet there we are…at every stage across the lifespan, from pre-conception to death.
We were commissioned to show what nurses do -work as done rather than work as imagined - and we created this infographic to show what nurses do from pre-conception to end of life @CrystalOldman speaking at #QNI2023
Nursing is not a fallback career for people who have "messed up" their a-levels.
Nursing is a highly skilled profession for bright, innovative, academically and emotionally intelligent people.

Today I attended an interesting workshop on podcasting in education-looking forward to using podcasts in a @TNA_BCU module. Great working with colleagues from other @mybcu faculties too. TY @SilviaGullino for hosting and @ElodieWakerley for inviting me!
Lovely to see you for real @TheStourbridge 🧡 Sorry for interrupting your morning nap though…you didn’t look too impressed but you did make three little girls very happy! 🤭
Are you a trainee or qualified Nursing Associate? We would love to invite you to be part of a short film celebrating Nursing Associates, to be shown at the BCU National Nursing Associate Conference. Please email Jonah.Bateson@bcu.ac.uk with the subject line ‘NA Film’.
I can’t say it any better than this man 👇🏻 I couldn’t be at the march today, but amazing to see so many people mobilising to shout that no one should be dying of an eating disorder in 2023. Well done @HopeVirgo!

The next generation should be doing better than the current one. Further evidence of failure to create better conditions for the next generation. Inequity between generations.
England is not making generational progress in numeracy skills.
While other countries have seen significant rises in numeracy, PIAAC data shows the mean numeracy proficiency for 16- to 24- year olds in England is the same as for 55- to 65- year olds.

ALT Chart shows average PIAAC numeracy score in selected OECD countries, 2019. Title states: "While other countries have made progress, younger generations in England are no more likely to be numerate than those born four decades earlier."
No #mentalhealth campaign or awareness strategy is ever reflective of the service users I know. The vast majority of these people remain invisible, stigmatised & face significant inequalities that pervades their everyday. #severementalillness#MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
Absolutely spot on- the widespread use of term 'mental health' is almost meaningless
While seeking to destigmatise mental disorders, it has led to marginalisation & more discrimination of people with conditions like psychosis/schizophrenia. @Martha_Gilltheguardian.com/commentisfre…
Thank you to our colleagues from @BCUlibrary for coming to our @TNA_BCU welcome day. We’ve had some great feedback from learners who found the day really valuable 😊

#OTD in 1943, at 10.45am, siblings Hans and Sophie Scholl walked into Munich University and distributed anti-Nazi leaflets. They were caught. On 22 Feb, they were sentenced to death and decapitated. Sophie had defiantly told the judge: "Somebody, after all, had to make a start."
