Competing with low-wage workers abroad has meant that the average non-college educated American is $2000 worse off, even accounting for being able to buy cheaper goods.
But... I'd bet the shoes on my feet that what's going to happen next is that inflation and falling GDP will be used to discipline American workers. Bringing the factories back will suddenly mean union-busting, wage suppression and sweetheart deals for Donald Trump's oligarch mates!
American workers shouldn’t have to “compete” with slave or quasi-slave labor in countries — ruled, ironically, by Communist parties — where labor rights are nonexistent.
