And he’s off! Dennis is in boundary-testing mode. Maybe he remembers there are two lady tortoises across the field…? He’s a very determined little chap so we too have to check the boundaries for possible escape routes! #NorfolkTortoiseRescue#Tortoise
Hubby and I had a lovely relaxed day starting with coffee at The Foundry nursery. We gazed at this lovely display and were tempted once again to try to grow delphiniums. We chose the vibrant purple-blue and hope we’re successful this time… 😁
Yes, it’s still teeming with rain here in South Norfolk. Yet, how can we really complain when it enables all this beautiful greenery…? 😄 Have a refreshing day pals! #LoveNorfolk
It’s almost impossible to to believe these pictures are little more than an hour apart. We were playing a match but the capricious weather drew my attention. Oh, by the way our teams won three out of four games. A lovely friendly evening of short-mat bowls. 😁 Sleep tight pals.
This is lovingly called Martin’s Rose after the chap who gave it over 20 years ago. Neither Hubby nor I can remember it’s official name. Very delicately scented but the beautiful colour more than makes up for that. #RoseWednesday
I just love Irises. This one is called Rajah and was given by a long-dead loved friend, so that every year it makes it’s appearance, it is a beautiful reminder of him… #Iris#Friendship#Rememberance
What a gorgeous plant nursery we have locally. This is the entrance to The Foundry, Newton Flotman. So nice to be able to sit outside and gaze at beautiful flowers, cappuccino in hand… 😁
It has been cool, grey and dismal all day here in East Anglia but this gorgeous hydrangea in our back garden is relishing the rain. Have a cosy night in friends. 😁 #backyardview#LoveNorfolk
Barty our cat heard this dragonfly land in the corn. At first I wondered what alien creature it was as I couldn’t make out its wings. They are very hard to see… #Dragonfly
Lowestoft, Suffolk tonight. What a fabulous beach and totally empty. Tomorrow Hubby meets up with his RAF pal from 1952! We last saw him and his wife in 1997, so lots of catching-up to do. 😁 #LoveSuffolk
My goodness, a light sprinkle of rain yesterday and Albertine burst into bloom all at once. Unfortunately they don’t last long and have only one flowering but by golly, it’s worth it! #Roses
Dennis does love an apple core. As you can see, he smelled it as I put it down. He has been known to do a tortoise leap before now and it certainly doesn’t take long to demolish one! 😁 #Tortoise#NorfolkTortoiseRescue
This is one of several recent art pieces I made from recycled food and drink containers. At the very least it stops them going to landfill but hopefully someone will love it for its sculptural qualities too…? A few things have just gone into a new local gallery, we will see… 😁
