He makes great jokes but I follow this guy because he’s one of the most intelligent people out there, and he has his finger on the spiritual current of our country. Mixer knows ball and respects Providence. All while being maybe a year or two older than me. My Brother and Captain.
“Millennial Optimism” as it has come to ironically be called is directly correlated with the Fall of Neoliberalism as a coherent ideology and the belief in the End of History. ‘The End of History’ culminated with the election of Barack Obama in 2008. It energized a generation of happy go lucky 20 somethings “finding themselves” in urban misadventures, replicating what they all watched on FRIENDS. ‘“Progress” is inevitable.” They would say. The Progressive Coalition will never lose again. The pluralistic world will be kept safe by multiculturalism and global cooperation. But just like the cringe stylistic choices of the 2012 urban hipster, the belief itself was a castle made of glass. This generation discovered that there was nothing to actually “find” on their urban quests. The jobs aren’t great and the life isn’t satisfying. The lifestyle that they were told would bring them happiness was hollowed out and sad. And the elites who plundered the world in 2008 helped create an environment where pursuing the life that would actually bring them satisfaction would be extremely difficult. But that was the goal. The traitorous elites had always meant for you to be sardines living in apartments with your friends in a sad city flat. History goes on though. We saw through the ruse.

There’s no punchline, sorry; just the vibes hit me hard whenever Mixer has something serious to say.

Watching this happen to my kids is exactly like how it felt happening to me, but now I laugh.
It’s MY TURN. Give me the controller!

I can't find letters written between Hamilton and Laurens about the wife Hamilton wants Laurens to get him in Carolina, anywhere except gay history sites. Please help me find primary sources that aren't debauched.

Only hike with good friends in Colorado.
In the winter of 1874, six men walked into Colorado's San Juan Mountains looking for gold. A blizzard blocked their way home for months. In the end, only one man came out: Alferd Packer stumbled into Los Pinos looking well-fed, carrying a skinning knife and in possession of cash and personal items belonging to the other men. He claimed the others died from the cold, one by one but nobody believed him. Packer was convicted of murder because cannibalism was not a crime then. Today there's a grill named after him at CU Boulder.

"And there in the blue air I saw for the first time, far off, the great snowy tops of the Rocky Mountains. I had to get to Denver at once."

To be great in your generation you have to understand the times, and which of these three you ought to conform more to in your day.
I think about this line a lot

Maybe I'm getting old enough to believe real things. Maybe it's just the 250. But it's hard to listen to this song without tearing up these days.
As someone who’s been singing the National Anthem at rodeo events for over 20 years, I’ll just say…. There’s a way it was intended to be sung, without your own spin. This was 💯the way! Bravo!

“The world’s first trillionaire is backing the far right”
The world's first trillionaire is backing the far right mobs and their politician backers. Don't think for a second that these men have ordinary people's interests at heart.

Real Americans just do things. I got the 16 ft board in the smallest car I own, lol. It has been replaced. The refinishing continues.
I broke a board. Now I have to buy a board. My car isn’t big enough to fit a 16 ft board.
