Division II Coker University hires 23-year-old @noah_korenoskii to lead the Cobras wrestling program. What an incredible journey Johnstown has taken to the top of the South Carolina program where he wrestled. (Check comments for more background on that.)

Nothing comes easy for @noah_korenoskii. His HS didn't have wrestling. His district bracket had 3 future D-I guys in it. He went juco & lost his father shortly after joining @Coker_Cobras.
Through it all, he perseveres & hopes to be an FBI agent one day.

Many questions of the ages of the 1947 guys. Lowell Lange was young, born August 17th, 1928 making him 18 during NCAAs of 1947. As you can see, 2 of the 4, much older. FYI, “True Freshman”
is not defined as someone who right away competes the fall semester following high school graduation. It means they compete the first year they are enrolled. The two fellas who were 23 below graduated high school, and went and fought in WWII for a few years before heading to college. Keep that in mind please before making any disrespectful comments about being elder freshman 😬.

When Mitchell Mesenbrink got to the podium, he went through and shook the hand of the other All-Americans at 165 - all but Mikey Caliendo’s. When Mesenbrink stuck out his hand to the Hawkeye, Caliendo refused to acknowledge him. Mesenbrink shrugged and moved on.

Van Ness almost missed the awards ceremony. Was not on the podium when announced, which brought a loud round of boos, but sprinted onto the scene just in time to get his award before Valencia's was presented.
