Every. Square. Inch. Jesus declared, "Mine!"

There are no throwaway hours. No meaningless jobs. No insignificant obediences. Faithfulness stacks.

Many people work in professions “closer to the curse.” It is there that believers shine the light of Christ and serve as salt to preserve and slow decay.

Running sound at church. Running a startup. Running for office. Different skills and interests. Same King.

Hymns in the minivan. Deals in the conference room. Hospital visits and HOA meetings. If Christ is Lord, He's Lord of it all.

The kingdom advances through ordinary people doing ordinary work with extraordinary allegiance to Christ.

How different would the world look if Christians not only believed this quote, but lived it? "There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: 'Mine!'" -- Abraham Kuyper

Your work is not disconnected from the purposes of God. Whether it's innovating new software, teaching 3rd grade math, or framing a home, it's all a part of the Cultural Mandate to build, cultivate, and take dominion over the earth.

Jesus is King over every sphere of life. That lordship claims Sundays and Mondays.

Bible studies and bath times. Singing hymns and starting businesses. Groups for community and gardening. Student ministry and software development. Food pantries and politics. It all matters to God.

When was the last time you sat in stillness and just thanked the Lord for the grace and blessings that He has bestowed upon you? Gratitude toward God is a form of worship. Let’s not forget to be grateful for everything Jesus has done for us today.

The Lord subsequently brings His people into the wilderness to officially make them His covenant people. But before He gives them the Ten Commandments, God reminds them, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.” (Exodus 20:2)
