Football fans are hypocrites.
When PSG refused to sell Mbappé and Real Madrid kept trying to convince his family not to sign a new contract so he could join for free, it was fine.
When Diego Simeone called Álvarez 11 times to convince him to join, even before discussing with Manchester City, it wasn’t considered bad.
When Liverpool were doing the same with Isak last season to put pressure on Newcastle to sell him, nobody complained.
When other clubs speak with a player’s camp and agent to know the possibility of signing the player before approaching his club, it’s not a problem.
But when Barcelona do it, everybody starts crying and says it’s a bad way of trying to sign Álvarez.
You guys are hypocrites. Barcelona submitted a bid for Álvarez. If Álvarez is ready to leave Atlético, he’ll make his intentions known publicly. If we don’t sign Álvarez, we’ll simply look for another striker. It’s that simple.
