Taking the steelman position on trigger warnings, doesn't it make way more sense to integrate them into a search and discovery system as a filter?
Toggle off anything with gore and never see it, rather than raise your blood pressure seeing everything that is an issue for you.

I'm willing to bet the model is entirely spot on, the problem is the creative direction to do "realistic" lighting instead of manipulating the light to create the desired impression.

So I was talking to a coworker about one of my stories. Two months went by without seeing him (different ends of the office) but when he caught me, the first thing he said was bringing up my story because he had still been thinking about it.

I don't understand readers (and writers too) who only read one genre.
How does your mood not shift? How do you not eventually build up a desire for some stupid power fantasy to cleanse your palette, or get tired of the tropes and want something with intellectual challenge?
