Years ago we had this argument and I still think about it Me “I feel like the big egg in Humpty Dumpty” Husband “Humpty wasn’t a egg” Me “yes he is” Husband “find me anywhere that says he’s an egg” And now I am raging coz I can’t actually find the word egg in Humpty Dumpty

In S1 E1, I spoke to the incredible @CoppaFeelPeople founder @KrisPoB about Food and Cancer, which remains my most popular episode. Kris has lived for 14 YEARS with secondary breast cancer, and her book Glittering a Turd is phenomenal open.spotify.com/episode/5mL… #WorldBookDay

To whoever needs to read this: i was told I had incurable breast cancer at the age of 23. I didn’t know if I would survive the treatment let alone the disease. I also didn’t know how to get my head around a 2-3 year average survival time. Anyway, that was 14 years ago today…

You won’t always feel as frightened as you do today. You can be your own statistic. Cancer won’t be the first thing and last thing you think about at night. You will go back to thinking and worrying about all the other shit life can throw at you.

My head is still bad today but I've taken some aspirin and I'm going for a run. Lined up some podcasts to listen to. On Friday I discovered @KrisPoB has a podcast and listened to her and @josierones - Highly recommend! And read Kris' book too. And Rosie's.

"Patients are demanding." ... because: 👉 Not everyone we encounter listens 👉 We all know someone who's fallen through the cracks 👉 We're not given enough information not to be 👉 Self-advocacy works 👉 If we don't tell people what we need, they have to guess

Two days before this picture was taken, I found a lump on my upper left breast whilst I was in the shower. I was away training and racing with the GB Rowing Team in Italy. This lump was not normal-I knew this because I checked myself regularly and knew what normal felt like to me

Importance of rehabilitation - as happens more consistently in Germany @KrisPoB. Services & charities shld be more diverse to reflect cancer community & more inclusive data @delythjmorgan eg Black women and Trans community have later diagnoses & poorer outcomes #RightToRehab
