the way to get over this is... keep drawing! From my experience I have seen way more "talented young artists" than successful older ones because most tend to quit. beat the statistics!
Artists should stop feeling insecure when someone younger than you makes good work
not only does it not matter at all its also annoying to constantly see the defeatist attitude around it

also I think young artists get their slap of reality when they realize the artist lifestyle isnt just about drawing. its about self-management, discipline, and being a decent person. I know plenty of artists that are amazingly talented but cant boil water or tie their shoes 🫠

I really wanted Kiriko to be a dps, but the hero design we needed at the time was a healer. The struggle of fitting her to a healer while keeping some of the original design resulted in a pretty cool character. It doesn’t always work out that way though.

studying the artists behind the style/IP is the most efficient way to broaden your range.
Don't just study Persona art, study Soejima. Don't just study ZZZ art, study Waterkuma. Don't just study League splashes, study Alex Flores 🧑🏫 etc.
