You can tell a lot about a community by what it chooses to invest in and protect. The priorities of a place become evident in the way it grows, the way its people work together and the way they care for one another. That’s exactly what I see every time I visit Oregon’s North Coast.
From seafood processing plants working around the clock to feed families here and around the world, to a hospital committed to delivering healthcare that works for its community, to local leaders and volunteers who serve simply because they love the place they call home, there is a spirit of hard work and resilience that defines this region.
The North Coast reminds me what this campaign is really about. It’s about the men and women who get up before sunrise, put in an honest day’s work and simply want the opportunity to build a life and raise a family in the state they love.
Oregonians aren’t asking for special treatment. They’re asking for a government that works as hard as they do.
I’m grateful for the conversations, the partnerships and the opportunity to continue fighting for communities like these. Together, we can make Oregon a place where the next generation doesn’t have to leave to find opportunity. They can build it right here at home.
