I was on a video podcast with some friends, friends! We talk about Showing vs. Telling, it's a great conversation, and I had a blast with Spencer and Sam. So listen up and join in the conversation in the comments, and/or comment here!
Forgot to post this morning over here, @KyleLeeWriter joined Sam and I to talk about everyone's favorite debate: Is it better to Show or Tell as an author? What's the debate like from a reader's perspective? Come find out! youtu.be/SuNTpnZappE

Did y’all hear they held a contest recently to choose the best neckwear? It was a tie.

This couldn’t be more true!
My theory as to why A History of Violence and Eastern Promises have fallen off “best of the century” lists in recent years is because 90 minute movies that 100 percent trust you to pay attention, catch subtext and embrace ambiguity have fallen out of favor in the streaming era.

As a movie nerd I’m often asked for recommendations, so I’ve decided to recommend a movie I’ve rated a 9 or 10/10, one every day. Daily movie recommendation number 40: It's one of the great action movies ever made, it's The Incredibles! Have you seen it?
As a movie nerd I’m often asked for recommendations, so I’ve decided to recommend a movie I’ve rated a 9 or 10/10, one every day. Daily movie recommendation number 39: It's my favorite heist movie, 1955’s Rififi! Have you seen it?

Have you guys heard about that new sport called Quiet Tennis? It’s like regular tennis but without the racket.

As a movie nerd I’m often asked for recommendations, so I’ve decided to recommend a movie I’ve rated a 9 or 10/10, one every day. Daily movie recommendation number 38: It's my favorite noir movie, 1948’s He Walked by Night! Have you seen it? It was instrumental as one of the first crime movies to be based on real LAPD case files. Supporting player Jack Webb used his experience on this movie to create the radio show and later the TV show Dragnet, doing the same thing.

Obviously The Beatles are headlining, with Zeppelin and the Stones supporting.
Me: AC/DC headlining, with Journey and Def Leppard opening. You?

I was traumatized by Little Shop of Horrors. I was about 4 and didn't understand the humor, so my family laughing at it made all the scary things that much scarier to me. Revisiting later, it is still a super messed up movie, but not as scary. But little Kyle was traumatized!
