@nwslosangeles has issued a Beach Hazards Statement that will remain in effect through Thursday evening as wave heights continue to increase. With the surge in ocean energy, dangerous rip currents will also become increasingly prevalent.

Recheck season is officially underway for all recurrent @lacolifeguards. Each spring, @lacolifeguards are tested on ocean swimming fitness, emergency medical response skills, and operational readiness for the busy summer season ahead. (1/2)

It’s National Beach Safety Week, and with warm air temperatures expected throughout the week, it is important to remember that one of the most important things you can do to prepare for a safe day at the beach is to talk with a lifeguard when you arrive. (1/2)
