23-year-old man, Jason Taylor, stole a tap-to-pay machine from a Lenox Avenue dry cleaner around 3:35 p.m. Monday. When NYPD officers from the 28th Precinct chased him into the park, he jumped into the Harlem Meer in a last-ditch effort to evade arrest.
After roughly 20 minutes in the murky water and a struggle with responders…NYPD divers pulled him out. He was arrested on the spot and charged with petit larceny. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Fort Worth Police responded to a missing child near Dream Park and found the child partially submerged in the water. One of the officers immediately entered the water and brought the child to safety.
