The VW Polo might never return to India, but there is a close - and even better - substitute available: the Škoda Kylaq. It’s bigger, more spacious, and has higher ground clearance than the Polo, yet the DNA is still there.

Honest Review Of Mahindra XUV 7XO - Diesel - AX7L
- New suspension setup is excellent. It glides over bumps and eat the pot-holes. ✅
- Poor sound insulation - engine noise is clearly audible even at idle, reaching the third row. Imagine how it’ll be while driving. ❌

From a design point of view, it has become too flashy and screams for attention. For me, it’s a big no - the XUV700 was and remains the better-looking car.

The 2.2L diesel engine is highly refined with ample torque on tap. It effortlessly crosses 80 km/h, and if you’re not watching the speedometer, it could easily land you an overspeeding challan. That said, it’s supremely powerful. ✅

All functions are controlled via the touchscreen—even basic tasks like turning on the AC. The shortcut button panel is often unresponsive and lacks haptic feedback; after multiple failed attempts, it finally registers a command. ❌

Recently tried IndianOil XP100 in my Škoda Kylaq to check fuel efficiency. Surprisingly, there was no noticeable improvement - mileage stayed more or less the same. Makes you wonder how even a 0% ethanol fuel doesn’t work wonders. Rs 149/litre. @IndianOilcl

Tata Safari vs Mahindra XUV 7XO
Both are direct rivals. Judging strictly by looks, the Safari appears more macho and timeless, while the 7XO looks more trendy and flashy. In comparison, the XUV700 felt more elegant. @TataMotors_Cars @Mahindra_Auto #Safari #XUV7XO

Instead of a sub-4-metre SUV, Volkswagen India is launching the 7-seater Tayron this January. Why not introduce a Kylaq-like model under the Polo name to drive volumes? The CBU Tayron, positioned against the Fortuner, seems unlikely to succeed. @volkswagenindia

If Scorpio N was your answer, then you’re wrong-this is the new Mahindra XUV 7XO. I too think it shares many design cues with the Scorpio N, be it the grille or the bi-LED headlamps. But why do they think the XUV700 wasn’t cool enough? @Mahindra_Auto #XUV7XO
