We commend the House and Senate for reaching a compromise on House Bill 2 (HB 2). This legislation provides much-needed support to raise teacher and staff pay, expand special education services, increase school safety resources, and help school districts manage the rising costs of insurance, utilities, and other essential operations. Now, we urge lawmakers to build upon their momentum by passing House Bill 4 (HB 4) as approved by the House.

Katy ISD over here busting myths some of our legislators love to spread. The state benefits from our high property taxes. Not our school district.
Did you know that Texas public schools don't benefit from rising property values? Katy ISD's per-student funding hasn't changed since 2019-2020 even though tax bills are up 10.1%. When you pay more, the state pays less. #TXLEGE #PubEd #FundTexasSchools

1st drafts are like first dates. Sometimes you’re into them, sometimes not.
Sometimes you will go onto date/draft 2, 3, & 4 until you make it to the final draft and sometimes after many dates/drafts, you will lose interest for no good reasons and call the whole thing off.
